William “Bill” Brandenburg, age 67 of Martinsville, IN. passed away January 1, 2018.  Bill was born on February 22, 1950 in Indianapolis, Indiana to James R. and Ruth E. Brandenburg. He is the father of 6 Children; William Brandenburg, James Brandenburg, William Dalton, Lora Rose Brandenburg-Shaw, Rose Gamble and Christina Brandenburg. Brother to; Joe Brandenburg, Helen Watkins, Jimmy Brandenburg, Terry Brandenburg, Richard Brandenburg, DeeLee Northern, Sam Brandenburg, Cindy Brandenburg, Melody Glover and Bob Brandenburg. Uncle of 14 Nieces and Nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, 4 Siblings, 1 Child, and 1 Niece.

Bill had an incredible aptitude and love of working with his hands. At an early age with what began as his self-titled and acclaimed “shade tree mechanic” grew into a lifetime profession from minor vehicle repairs, building race cars to heavy equipment and diesel repair. If it came apart Bill was able to put it back together making it better and faster than before.

Bill was an avid outdoorsman, his free spirit and love of life led him to camp, hunt, fish, but sitting around a campfire picking his guitar and telling stories was one of his favorite pass times. Bill’s humor and quick wit in his stories of life and times will live on in our hearts forever.

His kind heart and endearing compassion will be missed by all.

Visitation and Memorial will be held; Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Indiana Funeral Care, 8151 Allisonville Rd. Indianapolis, IN.   Visitation:  9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.   Service: 10:00 a.m.  Burial immediately following at Floral Park Cemetery, 425 N. Holt Rd. Indianapolis, IN. 46222

I’m so sad that he’s not here anymore. I miss him so much. We were friends at times more than just friends but because of certain issues we just remained good friends. The whole family always made me feel like family too. I know everyone of them will miss him so much. He would do anything for anyone. Even give the shirt off his back if someone needed it. RIP my friend. We’ll see each other again. The only comfort I can get is that he’s at peace no one can torment him ever again. I miss him and will miss the Brandenburg family.

Bill will be sadly missed by family and friends. He had a kind heart for all. I know when I lost my husband he still stayed in contact with me, checking to see if I was doing okay. We (my husband and I) was friends with Bill for many many years. His work here on earth was done. God had better things for him to do in heaven. He is up there flying high now. Rest in peace my friend. God has you in his arms now.

    Dear family,
Please accept our deepest condolences for your loss. We too living up North in Wisconsin most certainly appreciate his love for the outdoors and a campfire. For usually those that sit around it are the one thing that anyone can truly leave behind, loved friends and family.
For if anyone that has they truly know the love of God, peace be with all that sit around the light and fire of life!

Oh Maniac! I will miss you dearly! You were so much fun and always had me laughing every time I saw you. I feel so lucky to have met you and consider a friend. Maniac and I shared the same birthday. We would call each other on our birthday and he would sing to me. He was so good at making up songs and also pretty crafty. He showed me some of his work. He really was a blast to be around and I will miss him a lot. I will always think of you on our birthday!!

This man was a nutcase and a stalker. He caused me more grief than I care to explain. I tried to help him years ago but all he wanted to do was guzzle beer.
I’m glad he is at peace now.
